A case study at the La Llagosta Waste Water Treatment Plant in Catalonia, Spain, has demonstrated a system that can recover reusable water at a rate of nearly 100% while reducing the amount of energy required to power the system by 25%. This process also recovers valuable material such as biogas, phosphates and nitrogen.
